The Banabi Story

Banabi has been used for generations by the Dharawal speaking people of coastal Sydney to describe a place of fresh water. The birthplace of European settlement at Circular Quay was chosen for its fresh water source. This was called the Tank stream. The traditional name for this stream is Banabi.

The Gujaga Foundation is a community led initiative to support and foster a strong sense of cultural identity and belonging for the Aboriginal youth within the La Perouse community. They lead language , cultural and education / research activities within the local Aboriginal Community. Proceeds from the sale of every bottle go towards supporting the fouondation
